Private games & sharing

Share private games and releases with other accounts through grants.

A private game is only loadable by you, but sometimes you want to share it: a friend hosting a test, a partner running it in their room. A grant gives one other account access to your private game or to one release of it. It never makes the content public or listed.

Granting access

In the Creator Portal, open the game's Access page and enter a username. Leave the release empty to grant the whole game (all its private releases, including future ones), or pick one private release. The grant applies immediately, with no acceptance step. Grants follow the account, so they stay valid when the grantee renames.

disko doesn't notify the other person, so tell them yourself.

Using a grant

The grantee sees the grant under Shared with me, with the reference to load. A room loads it like any release:

text

A room is authorized as its owner's account, so rooms owned by the grantee can host it. Local game directories and archives involve no registry and no access check.

Revoking and leaving

The owner can Revoke a grant and the grantee can Leave it; both take effect immediately. Access is checked on every load, so the next load fails with game_not_found. Rooms already running the game keep running.

CLI tokens never read private releases; sharing and grants are managed only in the Creator Portal.
