> Build disko games visually in Disko Studio, or in code with the CLI. Both make the same packages.

There are two ways to make a disko game. Both produce an ordinary game
package that the registry, room hosts and players treat the same way.

## Disko Studio (recommended)

[Disko Studio](https://studio.disko.ooo) is a visual editor in the browser.
You draw the stadium, describe rules as sentences in an event sheet
("When a disc crosses Goal, add 1 to score"), build the Menu and HUD, play
the game in the tab and publish it, without installing anything.

- Start with [your first game in the Studio](/studio/first-game).
- Bring an AI assistant along with [building with AI](/studio/building-with-ai).

## Code

Write the game in TypeScript or JavaScript against the game API, test it
in local rooms with the `disko` CLI, and publish from the terminal. Choose
this for full control, your own tools and version control.

- Start with [Install](/get-started/install) and
  [Create your first game](/get-started/first-game).

## Switching later

A Studio project can be turned into code once, with `disko eject`. The
result is a normal project that you keep editing in code; it does not go
back into the Studio. See [Studio or code?](/studio/studio-or-code).
