# visibility_required

> Publishing to a public game needs `--visibility`; there is no default.

| Kind | `disko` command error |
| `disko` exit code | 2 (usage) |

For a public game, every release must state its visibility. `disko publish`
without `--visibility` fails with `visibility_required` before uploading and
exits with code 2. `--dry-run` ignores the flag, so a dry run does not report
this code.

## Wrong

```sh
disko publish
```

## Right

```sh
disko publish --visibility public
```

Use `unlisted` for a release that anyone with the link can play but that is
not listed, or `private` for one only you and your grantees can read.
