# studio-near-without-position

> An audience uses Near on something whose position the room doesn't know.

| Code in the Studio | `near-without-position` |

**Near** keeps something for the players whose disc is close to it, so it only works for things whose place the room knows: bodies, cameras, sounds played at a disc, and visuals on a body or at a point the game knows. A UI node, a chat message and a sound played everywhere have no position. A visual placed by what screens work out, such as a disc's position or the viewer's own disc, has one only on each screen.

## Fix

- Choose another audience, such as **Players** or **Players with {role}**.
- For a sound, set **At** to the disc it comes from.
- For a visual that follows a disc, set **Where** to **On a body** and pick the disc, instead of placing it at the disc's position.
