References in a project are object ids: a joint's two discs, a row's custom event, an action's variable. Deleting the target, or leaving a required reference empty, leaves the reference dangling. The Problems panel selects the object that holds the reference.
Fix
Pick a new target in the inspector, or clear the slot and choose again.
Undo the delete if the target was removed by mistake.
