# game_required

> `game.json` has no `game` address, which a real publish needs.

`disko publish --dry-run` builds and checks a project without a `game` field,
but a publish that uploads needs to know which game the release belongs to.
Without it, `disko publish` fails with `game_required` after the build and
exits with code 1. The output also lists a `manifest_invalid` problem for
`game.json`.

## Right

Create the game in the Creator Portal first, then set `game` to its
`<namespace>/<slug>` address.
